2023 Annual Trashion Show:
Metamorphosis

In a post-pandemic climate, underlined by widespread anxiety and fears of environmental stagnancy, last year’s ‘Dystopia’ theme for our annual Trashion show seemed perfectly fitting. This year, in an attempt to rebuild bridges toward a brighter future, our theme ‘Metamorphosis’ highlights the role of the self in creating natural worldly change, even evolution. Through transfiguring creative uncertainty into the aesthetics of flourishment and unusual beauty, this reparative process of making is one of realisation; the realisation of both individual and  collaborative expression. Working impulsively to find new solutions to existing problems, members of the Fashion Forward Society have collectively birthed a community that encourages innovation and experimentation. Broadcasting our attempt to break the boundaries between nightlife and high fashion, we hope you enjoy this insight into just some of the creative projects involved in this year’s show.
